自杀炸弹客是殉教烈士
奥巴马在开罗肯定了穆斯林对现代世界的巨大贡献，甚至学阿拉伯语引用古兰经说“和平会降临于你们”。如果伊斯兰宗教本质上是推动文明，促进和平的，那么为什么还有那么多的伊斯兰圣战主义者，愿意用自杀炸弹来滥杀无辜呢？奥巴马可以解释这些不属于伊斯兰以及哪些属于伊斯兰宗教。的确自杀不是伊斯兰宗教的教义，但是在《古兰经》以及穆罕默德言行录中，有多处要求信道者殉教，鼓励他们成为烈士。

4 : 74, 以后世生活出卖今世生活的人，教他们为主道而战吧！谁为主道而战，以致杀身成仁，或杀敌致果，我将赏赐谁重大的报酬。
9 : 111, 真主确已用乐园换取信士们的生命和财产。他们为真主而战斗；他们或杀敌致果，或杀身成仁。那是真实的应许，记录在《讨拉特》、《引支勒》和《古兰经》中。谁比真主更能践约呢？你们要为自己所缔结的契约而高兴。那正是伟大的成功。
2 : 207, 有人为求真主的喜悦而自愿捐躯。真主是仁爱众仆的。

穆罕默德言行录中说，殉教者可以复活，可以升入天堂。参见（Bukhari (52:54)，Bukhari (52:54) Muslim (20:4678) ，Muslim (20:4655) ，Muslim (20:4681) -Muslim (20.4635) 等等。
自杀炸弹客是西方人造的贬义词，按照穆斯林的语境，这些人不仅不是自杀客，他们被尊为是Fedayeen（埃及游击队员）， Shahid（见证者，烈士）。即使在联合国（UNRWA）学校，也有巴勒斯坦的教师在课堂里公然歌颂自杀炸弹的行为，甚至使用所谓“烈士—星之队”的教科书。炸弹客不是自杀客，他们是在战场中杀死异教徒，这样的行为穆罕默德不仅许可，而且誓言给他们天堂的赏赐。听过所谓“72个处女在天堂等候任何一位伊斯兰教烈士”的奖赏么。不仅是土生土长的阿拉伯人，愿意为真主舍身，而且在皈依了伊斯兰教的西方人中间，不少人愿意为真主舍身取义。根据学术组织JAMESTOWN反恐的调查报告，零八年四月，五月，英国分别发生了三起恐怖袭击未遂事件，警方逮捕了作案的恐怖分子，令媒体震惊的是这些青年都是白人，但自从皈依伊斯兰后，他们不仅给自己取了阿拉伯名字，而且仇恨英国及其西方国家，并自制炸弹企图实施恐怖活动。
穆斯林女性遭受迫害和虐待
除了恐怖活动之外，生活在穆斯林国家的大部分妇女一生都经历恐怖，没有自由，甚至遭受家庭暴力和虐待。在沙特，没有男性亲属的陪同或者监管人的同意，女性不能外出，更别说有什么人际关系了。依照伊斯兰法规，如果不听丈夫的话，丈夫有权殴打自己的妻子，巴基斯坦百分之五十到九十的妇女遭受过家庭暴力，不仅被毒打，强奸，有时甚至被泼硫酸。如果丈夫对妻子发出三次离婚警告，这个女人就好被踹出家门了。而穆斯林女性是没有离婚权的，丈夫可以一直奴役妻子，丈夫除了可以拥有四个妻子外，还可以和不定数量的女奴发生性关系。女性不仅没有离婚权，而且连结婚权也没有，女性成年后，婚姻由长辈安排。
塔利班政权倒台之前，阿富汗的女性不准读书，女性不准涂指甲油，女性不准在公共场所大笑，否则判处鞭刑。男女自由恋爱就是“叛国者”要被处决。塔利班倒台之后，阿富汗的新宪法虽然规定了“男女平等”，但还是有女学生被陌生男子泼洒硫酸，一百二十家学校因为有女学生，而被男人放火烧毁。阿富汗女诗人娜迪娅被丈夫用砖头活活砸死，邪恶的丈夫说：“为什么别人恭维的是你这个婊子，而不是我？”，原来娜迪娅遭到杀害原来是丈夫嫉妒她的才华。男人杀妻，在阿富汗不是什么大罪，坐一个月牢，就可以释放。（见陶杰文章《阿富汗女子》）
在２００１年到２００８年，巴基斯坦发生了四千一百宗所谓的“荣誉谋杀”，而这些都与伊斯兰教教义有关。所谓的“荣誉谋杀”就是，如果女子让家族蒙羞的行为，比如拒绝包办婚姻，或者有婚外性，或者违反了伊斯兰着装的规定，或者改信仰等等，那么家族的男人就有了“杀手执照”可随意处死她。而在前伊拉克，这种惨剧比比皆是。甚至一些穆斯林认为被强奸的已婚女性也犯了奸淫罪，如果她不能证明自己被强奸的话。而按照伊斯兰教法规，要证明自己被强奸至少要四个男人当场见证或者强奸犯自己承认。按照传统的伊斯兰法规，犯奸淫罪的人将被判处“在公众场合被石头砸死”。想必那些看过影片《追风筝的人》的人一定对此印象深刻。除了“荣誉谋杀”还有令女性畏惧的穆斯林刑法，如FGM（female genital mutilation）女性生殖器官切除，这在埃及，也门，库尔德斯坦很普遍。还有让女性致死致残的FAI(female self-immolations) 女性自我献祭等等。
西方文化对穆斯林的同化效果几乎为零
西方人普遍认为天赋人权，但是生活在穆斯林国家的十多亿人却不这么认为。言论自由，信仰自由，生存权，对他们来说简直是天方夜谭。根据Freedom House２００８年对各国的政治权力和民权的调查统计，穆斯林世界是世界上最不自由的地区，多数的穆斯林国家都是神权专制统治。
即便移民到了西方国家，穆斯林因为受到伊斯兰教的传统文化影响，他们无法理解自由的价值。以英国为例，其中百分之六十二的穆斯林不认为言论自由应该受到保护，百分之二十八的穆斯林盼望着英国某天成为一个伊斯兰国家，百分之二十四的穆斯林支持零五年的七七伦敦恐怖袭击。
美国的穆斯林情况如何呢？根据《华盛顿邮报》零六年八月二十七日的文章（America’s Muslims Aren’t as Assimilated as You Think），美国的穆斯林正在加速背离美国主流的生活，他们认为自己的伊斯兰身份高于自己的美国国籍。根据皮尤研究中心的调查，只有很少一部分的穆斯林移民认为他们应该接受美国的风俗文化。更让美国政府担忧的是，西方文化对他们的同化效果几乎为零，大部分穆斯林青年都是首先把自己看作穆斯林，而不是美国人。年纪越小，越极端，即使他们出生在美国，也毫不例外。
对于基地组织的恐怖活动，只有半数多一点的美国穆斯林对此表示不认同。而两成七的人不愿意表态。百分之五的穆斯林表示非常支持基地组织，也就是说将近七万多穆斯林公开支持，四十万人不表态。只有很少一部分的穆斯林认为阿拉伯人要为911负责。在英国只有不到两成的人认为911是阿拉伯人所为。《欧洲的末日：古老大陆的墓志铭》一书的作者沃尔特-拉克尔先生，对21世纪的欧洲前景深表担忧。他发现，随着本地出生率急剧下降，外来的穆斯林人口暴增，欧洲开始面临新的危机。如今的欧洲教堂门庭冷落，清真寺人满为患，而且这种人口变化趋势加速了欧洲福利体系的崩盘。欧洲多起城市的骚乱都是因为极端主义的穆斯林挑战欧洲的自由价值而引发的。荷兰议员Geert Wilder拍摄的短片Fitna，因为大胆揭露了伊斯兰教对世界威胁，而遭到穆斯林的强烈抗议并引发多起暴力事件，迫使很多西方国家对该片禁映，甚至在网络上也无法传播。
